The Department of Economics is one of the oldest departments of the college. Department of Economics offers three year degree course at graduate level.

The main objective of the department is to provide students sufficient knowledge about main areas of the subject and inculcate socio-economic sensitivity in them. It aims at developing quality human resource to qualify competitive ex-emanations and an efficient input for specialization in the discipline. The faculty members work hard to keep themselves abreast with latest development of the dynamic subject, they participate in national and international conferences and seminars whenever possible.
